AWARDS CERTIFICATES DIPLOMAS

In 2003 the local LIONS CLUB of Haukivuori has awarded Marja de Jong for her initiative to give the former old people's home a new future. For the society of Haukivuori this place is very important and through the founding of an art center it will get a new content.

The building was in a very bad condition and the new organization has done the most essential repairing to save the building for fall into disrepair. The roof has been totally renewed, which was a huge investment, but important as a base for further renovation.

It is important to get response by the local society on this innovative initiative. In co-operation with them the place can develop into a cultural and art center of local and international importance.
