Art is one of the basic human qualities. In the first years of a child's live
the view on reality is in an artistic way. Art is the open mind to the phenomena
of the (unknown) reality. Children are able to see things in a new way, because
they don't have any notice of the rules adults are using.
This aspect of childhood is going on of minor importance in the education
programs. Artistic development is as they say of course very important, good,
nice and fine and all this kind of descriptions, but you cannot test it. In
school programs now a days tests are giving hold on educators, tests are clear
and seem to be objective.
Art is asking so much time and the program is overfull, so art can take less
time. Even when official and important papers give report of the importance of
art, that's final, no substantive and financial contribution to look after the
possibilities to integrate art in education. This is a problem in almost all
western countries.
The worst scenario is going on in teacher training colleges, art education is
reduced in time, facilities and financial support. It seems there are no
problems, but when the last teachers with an extensive knowledge and experiences
about art education had left the schools, nobody can take their places and a
part of the education fundament is lost. The results for other parts of
education will be visible after that, but than the devisers and the lawgivers
have quit the scene.
With special art courses it is possible to enlarge the quality of art education
and give it a fundamental position in the general education program of the
school. When art is an integrated part of the education program every child has
the possibility to grow in all his human qualities. Just now when art education
in teacher training colleges is reduced in time it is important to find new ways
in this field.

- how to use the painting
material, to study practically how to build up a painting and drawing,
the way to continue, find an open way of working free from clichés
discussion
- about the meaning of art
education and the relation with your own art-work
- the differences and relations in art works between professionals and
adults’/children’s art work
(- the differences between art works and the relation between your own
art work and children’s art work)
investigation
- different ways to visualize the environment by painting and drawing
- the way assignments are important to create an artistic situation in
art education
- possibilities to introduce assignments in a classroom/group of
children
- the specific way children visualize their impressions and how to guide
that carefully
you can choose from the different programs that are available:
A 3 hour lectures,
B one day workshops,
C and courses for more extensive study
D special arrangements and agreements with
individual persons, groups and/or school team (for one
school or different schools)
*Instruction is in English. The instruction is in relation to visual
objects and physical activity, therefore fluency in English language is
not necessary to understand the workshops and courses.

kurssien ja työpajojen ajatuksena on
löytää oma tapa ilmaista itseään käytännön työssä
nähdä lasten kanssa työskennellessä, kuinka he oppivat ilmaisemaan itseään visuaalisesti
työpajat, kurssit ja luennot sisältävät:
tehtävät
- eri materiaalien käyttö, opiskellaan käytännössä kuinka
rakennetaan maalausta ja piirustusta, miten edetään työssä, miten
löydetään avoin tapa työskennellä ilman kliseetä
keskustelu
- taidekasvatuksen tarkoituksesta ja sen yhteydestä omaan taiteeseen
- miten ammattilaisten ja aikuisten/lasten taideteokset eroavat
toisistaan ja mitä samaa niissä on
tutkia
- eri tapoja visualisoida ympäristöä maalaamisen ja
piirtämisen kautta
- tapaa, jossa tehtävät ovat tärkeitä taiteellisten tilanteiden
luomiselle taidekasvatuksessa
- eri tapoja esittää tehtäviä oppilaille /lapsille
- erityistä tapaa, miten lapset visualisoivat omia vaikutelmiaan ja
miten opettaja voi varovaisesti opastaa lapsia heidän työssään
meillä on eri ohjelmia tarjolla:
A 3 tunnin luentoja,
B 1 päivän työpajoja
C ja kursseja pitempään opiskeluun
D erityisjärjestelyt ja sopimukset kouluja varten (yhdelle
koululle tai jopa useammille kouluille tarkoitetut)
* Opetus on englannin kielellä. Opetus työpajoissa ja kursseilla on
hyvin visuaalista, niin, että sujuva englannin kielen taito ei ole
tärkeä.
