JOLANDA SCHOUTEN -THE NETHERLANDS
August 29 -September 11 2006
Professional artist and consultant art education with CKV ALmere the
Netherlands.
As a part of building up a network with art education organizations all over the
world her contribution is important for the Dutch field of art education in
primary schools.
The exchange between organizations for art education in different countries
expands the individual view on art education and the artistic development of
children.
Together with Jolanda Schouten the art centre starts the cooperation with the
secondary school of Haukivuori.
She is the first one who, based on her own artistic work, has teach the
youngsters of the 7th class to create a series of art lessons/workshops with
textile materials. This project will expand to schools in the region and can
also offered to national and international art teachers. Working together to
give young people a view on the value of art in their own live.
During her stay a plan is build up to start the exchange with Dutch
organizations and consultants in the field of art education.
To complete the practical work she build up in the AllaprimA MuseuM an
installation with her own work and the results of the workshop with the students
of Haukivuoren Ylä-aste is in a room next to her own installation.
In the coming period the ideas will develop and the results worked up in
art education plans for (art) teachers in schools and leisure activities.
Together with other artists a various plan with practical art activities for
children and youngsters will be the result.
