TRANSCULTURAL EXCHANGE'S MISSION STATEMENT:
TransCultural Exchange is an award winning 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting international art and the understanding of world cultures,
through high quality art exhibitions, cultural exchanges and educational programs at our home base in Boston and throughout the world. Incorporated in 2002,
the organization has already received awards from such organizations as the International Art Critics Association and support from such respected world
organizations as UNESCO, the State Department’s Art in Embassies Program, and the Asian Cultural Council, the Open Society
Initiative,
Massachusetts Cultural Council and the LEF Foundation among others.
Art centre Saksala ArtRadius has been invited into the first
conference in spring 2007 to give a lecture about artist-in-residence
and has been participating in mentoring sessions during the conference.
During the second conference in April 2009 Saksala ArtRadius will also
participate in the interesting program.
Three artists of the artist-in-residence program of Saksala ArtRadius have
been accepted into international collaboration project with their show
SOJOURN IN WHITE.
The artists Ilse van den Berk (the Netherlands), Behrouz Rae (Iran) and the
curator Claire Watson (Australia) are the participants.
The show was exhibited in the AllaprimA MuseuM of Saksala ArtRadius and will
be also in two places in Australia - Cowwart Art Space and Gippsland Art
Gallery in November and December 2008. The Australian artist
Maria-Luisa Marino will participate in the last part of the show. Her
contribution will be in collaboration with Behrouz Rae who will stay in a
residence during the end of the year.
