TAPANI MANNER -FINLAND
As an expert with long international experience Tapani Manner has been a
great value for the developing of the EU-project ART ENLARGES THE AREA.
A clear view on tourism for the region and as a part of art centre Saksala
ArtRadius has given a direction to focus on.
During the Taidekirppujen yö Tapani Manner has been active in the railway
station where he lives with a presentation of African art.
Tourism in east Finland is related to Lake Saimaa and the festivals. It is
very difficult to develop new areas and new attractions. The tourist agency in
Mikkeli region is not a promoter of new activities.
Art centre Saksala ArtRadius is active in the art related activities and is
promoting itself by the internet and by the own huge network. Through that
network and promotion Mikkeli has got more attention than ever before.
Over 95% of the persons staying over night in the art center are foreigners!
A great result for a young organization.
