atelier - workspace |
 |
To start a long day the students there is coffee and tea.
After a short introduction and explanation of the plan the students go to the atelier in the attic.

 |
The start includes making several colored layers of paint on an under layer of plywood from 40x40 cm.
During two hours the students work intensively to build up a colorful underground.
It is interesting to see the colors intensify all the time.
The way of painting starts to be more familiar and it gives the students more freedom in their choices.

Before lunch there was a tour though the art centre and the students were very interested in
the different kind of art in this institute.
During lunch with typical Finnish food the exchange between the students grows.
Interest in the background of others can help to start to understand subtle differences in behavior and increase the respect of any other
individual person.

After lunch the students start to discuss about their information about their
country. They start to work in duos one Finnish and one foreign student. Both make an own painting, but try to find similar motives, color or
ideas. With different ways how to use the motives and how to continue the work with respect for the basic painting they start to work.
During the discussions it was clear it is not easy to cooperate in the painting, but the exchange of ideas is already giving a view in the
world of the other. All the paintings are more or less individual art pieces and with interesting solutions for visual problems.
At the end of the day the students were very tired after working so intensively. The results show a range of thoughts and together a good
proof of the way they were able to visualize their vision. The works are more than an illustration of ideas, it goes further and gives all
participants the satisfaction of a good process.
