symposium CHILDREN'S LABYRINTH 2010 - artists
DAVID KOCHAVI - ISRAEL
PROPOSAL
The proposed artwork for the Children Labyrinth is an installation.
The work may attract the children because it will be mysterious and look like
"something" taken from their imaginary world. It may be a huge beast/insect
(but, attached to the ground!). At the same time, this structure could remind
the children of a strange habitation, a cage, a guarding facility (to guard
nature?), a wooden spaceship – captured and attached to the ground…and so on.
In its sculptural language, this structure is, mainly, a bunch of vertical lines
(A forest – as a nature symbol) carrying a floating big object high above.
This kind of work is suitable for realization in cooperation with children and
teachers and I will be happy to create it with them.
ON SITE
David Kochavi has started to work on a series of creatures which will be
integrated in a part of the LABYRINTH.
