the first month
When I arrived at Haukivuori, the weather was cold, outside all was gray, white and dark. In art Saksala ArtRadius there are many colors. I met the Iranian artist Behrouz Rae in the center. It is really nice to have people to share the impression, to debate on art; we were learning from each other, it was amazing.
From France I carried my paint with me. In Mikkeli I bought some canvas and art supplies to start with the paintings about a famous car crash. The canvasses were too small for this idea and after a while I quit the idea.
In Mikkeli I found a light box outside a fashion shop which they were renovating. The shop owner allowed me to take it to Saksala ArtRadius and I am using it for a sculpture. In the basement I
was working in one of the workspaces to build my installation. The room is fresh painted by me to fit with the light box.
The silence of the art centre inspires me to start making drawings in my own studio. It was good to concentrate on this part of my work.
The next-door neighbor Rauni and her daughter Marja are very friendly and sometimes we go to the pub to have a drink, or we are going to bike.
At the end of April a friend of Behrouz came to work with him in the LABYRINTH symposium. It was very interesting to meet Fereshte and to talk about her work.
