AllaprimA collection children's art
The Dutch AllaprimA Foundation has a unique collection of children's paintings.
This collection is loaned to the AllaprimA MuseuM of art centre Saksala
ArtRadius, with the condition to take care of, to publish and to make
exhibitions, lectures, workshops and seminars with it.
The collection exists of about 10 000 paintings, drawings, prints and plastics
of children and youngsters in the age of 2-18 years.
In 2001 the AllaprimA Foundation published the book 'kindertekeningen, een
beeldverhaal' - 'children's drawings a story of images' and exhibited part of
the book in the KUNSTHAL-ROTTERDAM
A very interesting part of the collection is the series of children who have had
courses in the AllaprimA Art School for many years.
These series show developments of 5-10-15 years and different from usual
collections they show the pictorial development. Most collections show the
graphic development and work which is made 'free'. These usual collections are
interesting because they show that only talented children develop themselves.
The rest stops at the age of 6/7 years.
The work of the AllaprimA Art School is important, because it makes clear that
only one hour a week is enough to increase basically the visual development of
children.
The children in the AllaprimA Art School were able to start very young. This
gives a new view on the artistic development of young children.

developed.
All together the collection, the database, the exhibitions, seminars,
workshops etc will create a real international centre for art education in
art centre Saksala ArtRadius.
